Working together, employees at APU commit to establishing a university atmosphere that is edifying to God and one another.The Associate Director of Grants Management is responsible for post-award monitoring to ensure proper stewardship of external funds received by the university from private and public funding sources for sponsored research and academic initiatives. The Associate Director reports to the Vice Provost for Academic Services and works closely with the director of Sponsored Research who oversees pre-award grant endeavors. This position is full-time in person at the Azusa campus.Required Education
- Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.Required Experience
- Five to seven years of experience in grants management.
- Record of significant experience in managing expenditures for grant-funded programs.
- Experience in post-award monitoring, both program and fiscal.
- Experience in developing budgets, budget modifications, and preparing program and fiscal reports.
- Knowledge of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies and
procedures related to financial management, recordkeeping,
purchasing, and other post-award activities; special emphasis on
OMB 2 Part 200 Uniform Guidance.Primary Duties/Essential Functions
- Ensure the university is in full compliance with university policy and funding source requirements for external private and public grants awarded for sponsored research and academic initiatives.
- Work with principal investigators, project directors, and key university personnel on funded private and public grant projects to ensure fiscal and program guidelines are being followed.
- Develop contacts with program and fiscal officers to clarify guidelines, procedures, and modification requests.
- Serve as a liaison between the principal investigator/project director and the sponsoring agency and between the principal investigator/project director and other offices at APU handling sponsored grant project documents.
- Manage the involvement of the Grant Accountant (housed in the Business Office) in the post-award process.
- Monitor and request approval for changes in awards.
- Track grant reporting timelines and meet with principal investigators, project directors, key personnel, and administrators to ensure timely reports are filed.
- Advise University Advancement of communications with private funders for institutional historical record in Raiser's Edge.
- Develop an orientation and training program for all APU departments handling grant project documents and records.
- Prepare a Post-Award Manual including APU and OMB guidelines for managing and monitoring program and fiscal requirements for private and publicly funded grants.
- Host stewardship meetings for each funded grant for principal
investigators, project directors, key personnel, and APU offices
and departments.Skills

use.Compensation
- Grade 14: $73,724 to $84,783 is the annual salary for this role
and reflects what Azusa Pacific University reasonably expects to
pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on
qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to
